Brothers and Sisters, It is with joy and conviction that your Elders declare Thursday May 2nd our next congregational Day of Prayer and Fasting! Our theme and focus for this special day is the seeking and restoration of our family members who have left our fellowship. In John 10:11-15, Jesus our Good Shepherd taught us: 11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-- 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. On Thursday May 2nd, your Elders are asking the congregation to pray, and for those physically able, to fast on behalf of the sheep who have left the flock. With joy and gratitude, recall the amazing blessing on which our God has showered us, and remember the names and faces of those with whom we have shared both victory and defeat but whose faith has waned. Certainly pray for them, but also reach out to them and declare the many ways the church has matured and grown since they we last with us. Do your best to connect with them one-on-one and listen with care as they share what life has been like since they left our fellowship. As an added bonus, please be informed that Thursday May 2nd is our nation’s declared National Day of Prayer! As you pray and fast, consider reaching out to someone new by offering something like, “Say, did you know that today is the National Day of Prayer?” Be amazed by what doors will be opened by this simple opening! In the next few days, please remind your brothers and sisters that Thursday May 2nd is our congregational Day of Prayer and Fasting. With much love and great respect, Your Elders of the Boston Church

40th Anniversary Family Reunion: In the History of God’s people 40 years marks a special moment. On September 6-8 the Boston Church will be celebrating 40 years. As a family we want to have a weekend to celebrate God’s work in our lives locally and around the world. It will be a time of reunions, of celebration as well as vision. We will have special reunions throughout the weekend. For those that have been part of teen camp throughout these years we will host a reunion on Friday September 6th. On Saturday September 7th there will be a reunion for those that became part of the church during the 80s. Also, on the 7th we will have another reunion for those that became part of the congregation during the 90s. On Sunday we will have a tremendous celebration together at the Lawrence High School. It will be a time to worship God, to play or watch sports, eat together, fellowship as well as to grab a vision for what God wants to do through us in the coming years! We want to encourage you to invite and host friends who have been part of the church and are now in other cities. We want as many as possible to celebrate God and draw close to Him and to one another. We need your assistance in the following ways: If you went to teen camp, came to the church in the 80’s or the 90’s and can help coordinate the reunions please contact the appropriate evangelist and offer your services to make your reunion a tremendous time together. We need people savvy in social media, in event planning, with pictures from the past, who know how to have a good time, who can coordinate a meal, who have the contacts of your peers … we need YOU!!!!
